Position Overview:
The Director of New Business Development will be essential in penetrating new logo accounts within the disposable medical device segment while ensuring targeted gross margin objectives are met. This results-oriented leader will focus on identifying and acquiring high-potential accounts that align with our strategic goals. This role offers the opportunity for advancement to Vice President of New Business Development, where the candidate will build and lead a dedicated sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Acquisition: Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and close business with new customers that fit targeted gross margin profiles within the disposable medical device market, driving substantial revenue growth.

  • Identify and prioritize high-potential clients and opportunities aligned with our service offerings and growth objectives

  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential clients in the life sciences and disposable medical device industries, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and aligning our services accordingly.

  • Proposal Development: Lead the creation of tailored proposals and presentations that clearly articulate our value proposition while ensuring alignment with targeted gross margin objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the CEO, VP of Sales, and other key stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment regarding sales actions and deal structures for new business opportunities.

  • Industry Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and promote our capabilities in disposable medical devices.

  • Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPI) from the tools available (CRM and others) to monitor and drive performance of the business development function.

  • Leadership: Responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales team, participate in monthly operations reviews, quarterly strategic planning meetings and act as an active member of senior leadership team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the disposable medical device or life sciences industries, with a focus on CDMO services.

  • Proven track record of acquiring new clients and achieving targeted gross margin objectives.

  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and product development processes for disposable medical devices.

  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft applications.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactical initiatives effectively.

  • Must be able to travel significantly to support face-to-face client meetings and industry events, including travel to Nicaragua. A valid passport is required.
