Command Medical Products

Command was established in 1985 by David T. Slick, Sr. David was already active in medical device manufacturing and recognized a growing trend in outsourcing, particularly in the medical field. In 1987, with the idea of establishing a vertically integrated company, he relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida where Command Medical Products grew to become a trusted CMO to many top tier MedTech organizations.

In February of 2024, Command Medical Products was purchased by Argosy Healthcare Partners (“AHP”), a lower middle market private equity fund focused exclusively on healthcare, and a division of Argosy Capital Group, Inc., a diversified investment firm with $3.3 billion in assets under management .

Command offers a complete line of services to support many different medical product lines leveraging off of three core areas of expertise: R.F. Welding of medical bags, extrusion of medical tubing, and downstream assembly and packaging operations for sub-assemblies and finished medical devices. The success of this formula was evident in the need for an immediate facility expansion and early recognition by Inc. 500 as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in America.

Since inception, Command has kept its focus on the disposable medical market. In 1998, Command Medical’s Quality System was updated to meet the International Standardization for Organization – Medical Devices Quality Management Systems (ISO 13485). All of Command’s domestic and near-shore clean rooms are currently certified to ISO Class Seven clean room standards and also have manufacturing space to accommodate less critical devices in climate controlled white room environments.

In 2005, Command expanded again, this time with a near- shore manufacturing plant located in Managua, Nicaragua. This additional facility allows for cost effective manufacturing of high volume, high labor content products. In 2008, Command moved the Nicaragua operations to a larger facility to support growing business needs. In late 2011, Command grew the workforce to a larger facility as a result of new business contracts. With a decade of successful medical device assembly and packaging in Nicaragua, increased demands necessitated more growth and Command Medical commenced construction on a second facility adjacent to the current one which is expected to double cleanroom manufacturing and warehouse space for the operations.

Both of Command’s manufacturing locations operate under the same quality system, are registered with the FDA and are certified to ISO 13485:2016 standards.
